This purpose-built machine from DeWalt's FlexVolt range has been designed from the ground up for drilling holes with diamond cores. It has a three speed gearbox that lets you cut holes 38mm, 76mm or 162mm in diameter dependant on speed. Diamond core drilling is essential for large diameter holes, generally 38mm and up. You can drill these large diameter holes in a range of materials including brick, concrete, masonry, stone. Common applications include installation of bathroom/kitchen extractor fans, cooker hoods, tumble dryer ducts and more. While these are all generally done horizontally through walls, you can also use the core drill to drill vertically down into a deep concrete floor for example in order to precisely create a track for laying HVAC or other services such as a soil pipe under floor.
